North Star Club

North Star Club is a gorgeous, luxurious retreat of unique and sumptuous cabins hidden in a secluded woodland between Hull and York.

My husband and I treated ourselves to a few days in this gorgeous place to celebrate our Cotton Anniversary, and it was perfection!

We timed it perfectly to coincide with the Beast from the East (slight sarcasm at this point) the travel was ok getting there, with waves of heavy snowfall greeting us throughout our M62 drive across to York where we wandered, and filled our tummies with gorgeous toasties and brownies at the independent Brew & Brownie (massively recommend this place if you're wandering the streets of York and was something delicious to treat yourself too).

We then strolled down Sancton to check into our White Rose Suite. We arrived just before the snow clouds gave another few downpours of fresh snow and luckily we could just sit back, get the fire crackling and enjoy the view out into the trees and watch as the snow built up in front of our cabin throughout the evening.

It was picturesque perfection, snow is so beautiful when you can sit back and just enjoy it...I love it initially but on a normal 'work day' it can be such a pain and interference; so being able to stay at the North Star Club on a rare occasion for so much snowfall was magical.

The place has a selection of different lodges and cabins which are all set apart for your own privacy and seclusion; however if you're craving company, or maybe you're heading there with a group of friends, the communal area and fire pit are stunningly designed and dressed to complete the look and feel or warm, relaxing and cosy surroundings.

I definitely put my husband to work though, he cooked us tea and breakfast on the BBQ even though it was as cold as anything, and when I was gutted that the weather may mean we didn't get to have marshmallows on the fire pit, he took me out in the freezing wind to make it happen!

So not only is this place amazing for couples on romantic getaways, families seeking escape, or friends who want somewhere cool to hangout and catch up; it is also an alternative wedding venue!

YOU CAN CELEBRATE YOUR WEDDING HERE!! And if you do, head back here and book me to shoot it because I ADORE THIS PLACE! Which is why I am sharing these photographs of this stunning place to make you as dreamy eyed as I was about it!

So to wrap this little blog post up our getaway here included - us digging a car out of a snow drift, ice skated down the road to the pub and having BBQ'd Oatcakes for breakfast, all in the comfort of a roaring log fire, chewy warm marshmallows and cheeky Yorkshire Cider!

Oh and if you do plan on booking your own retreat here... be ready to meet the most adorable Spaniel called Eddy! He loves to receive your keys from you upon your departure! Cutest detail to our stay in my eyes!
